dance on a table

and never ever apologize for having fun

If you didn’t snap a pic, did it really happen?

“Bed rotting”, “parallel play”, “ipad time” all commonly used phrases amongst the goblins of the internet, myself included. It was a good friends birthday but things were kinda hectic and I wasn’t so sure I was feeling up to go. These days i’m averaging 4/5 hours of sleep and once the weekend hits, IM WIPED. On these kinds of nights its a battle of convincing each other if we really wanna gonna go. A habit we’ve made. For why? no clue. Floating to and from “do I go??” and “I’m lazyyyy”, sprinkled with some “Who’s going"?”, “Is %^*&____ going?”, “if you go i’ll go”, “maybe an hour?”. I can find just about every reason to convince myself to stay in. If I haven’t stamped a YES IM GOING on it, you cant bet ill be there. Tragic, i know. WHY ARE WE LIKE THIS???

A condition of the pandemic or a byproduct of the loneliness epidemic, an answer i’m still searching for. Americans need to party more. What happened to going out for the love of the game? Truly, if im going out, im GOING OUT. It’s actually really funny because if I dont go out for a while, I go out with a purpose. Im gonna have FUN, and make sure look good while doing it too. What’s this fun? I cant say too much but if you’ve had the chance of going out with me… well, you know. Gen-z has been disgraced, we were promised the club, WHERE IS THE CLUB?! ((z-spot will do for now)). We hear millenials talk about business casual, herve legere bandage dresses, champagne and flo-rida in the club; and think of it as a farse.

I know a place where you can get away

If the music’s pumping, it’ll give you new life. You’re a superstar ⭐️

Grasping the idea of partying till the sun came out with two dollars in your bank account is a rare phenomena amongst my group of friends. I think we’ve catastrophized the idea going out. If we think about what partying was like for Millenials 2 things are the same: shit economical conditions, and wanting to have fun. I know we all long for it.

I read this article in like 2022 that the mid to late 2020’s would be considered to be the roaring 20’s. The will to live Declines and the want to experience skyrockets. What if we flipped the narrative and made it a goal to just have fun. OH AND THAT REMINDS ME: BRING BACK FLIRTING! Introduce your friends to people, get to know others, strike up a convo, share a cig and laugh. Everyones scared of what people will think but at the end of the day, when all of this is said and done what will you look back on? How stupid you were to let others’ perception of you get to your head or about how much fun you had dancing with your friends on the tops of tables?

After a night out, the stories are always about how much fun the night was. We NEED parties, we need to bring back the house party ((its actually how a lot of my parents’ friends and their cousins met their spouses)). A poll from YouGov showed that although 89% of Americans enjoyed birthday parties, only 59% of them had attended one in the past year. The order to create the social world we want starts with one and ends with all of us. Keep up on our emails soon, who knows… what’ll be waiting in your inbox: a riddle, an address, or an invite? It’s thursday so heres some food for thought: set the intention to go out this weekend. Go out with the intention to have fun, laugh, kiss and call. Leave your phone behind or make a singular post and shut it off. Alchemize the feeling of a night out and produce something others can feel. It might just inspire you to dedicate a whole entry to the magic of a good time. Experience the night.
