we made that bitch famous?
In a family of pigeons, I’m a flamingo. Well, not really but really.
The news is in and word says: youre out. If you haven’t heard influence is dead. gone with the wind. Along with every piece of shit marketing ad, beat down and washed influencer you know. Every ‘get ready with me’ blends in with the other. Every corny keyboard click clak edit not very different from the last. First it was cool. It was new. Now it’s just regurgitated ‘cool girl’ ‘whimsy maxing’ slop. Everyone claims to be something but what if everyone claims to be something then ‘something’ becomes another soulless metaphor for a corporate jail. Because once its hit your feed it’s dead. Fortunately, you’re kinda early to this new party that’s starting up some rumblings.
In a family of pigeons, im a flamingo. Well, not really but really. Since a young girl I got in trouble for just about anything. Once I got in trouble for starting a rumor at school that girls didn’t poop. (they don’t so idk where that even came from) but at least the influence was there from a young age. The funny thing was, I wasn’t trying to sell anyone on it. It used to be that trends would creep onto you and make their way into your way of living and we’ve borrowed so much that our individual identities have been washed over. all that’s left to do is ask: What identity is left after it’s been washed over?
Everyone trying to sell you the idea of who you should be rather than asking who are you and how you got there. The interesting part is the journey, and when everything is CapCut to perfection, it’s the b-roll footage people start crave. In an age where everywhere you turn is another attempted shitty sale of hopeful dreams that don’t fit into your life, where are the real people? We eat it up, because it’s good for us, right? In the third space it doesn’t matter so long as we identify enough with pieces of shit art or poetry. But trust me you can change.
Influencers were the first to break through traditional trends of what it meant to be famous. Suddenly, normal people could be famous too. But if every normal person was famous, it would mean nothing. It seems these days we hear more about ken Urich and her boyfriend than people we deem to be celebrities. But for the first time in a long time people are not caring to know.
Instead, they’re burrowing themselves deeper into online communities called niches with other like minded individuals or people completely different from them. A rise in internet subcultures Because thats kinda the fun part. Being apart of something. Mass influence is dying because being known by everyone increasingly means less than meaning something to someone.
THE PEOPLE YEARN FOR COMMUNITY.
Finding someone a little far fetched from the way you are to admire from afar, like a dog on its hind legs. Like some weird girl proverb your interests are now gaining traction. Because it’s cool show what makes you, you. For the first time in forever, what it means to be a celebrity is changing.
What does an influencer become when the internet goes dark? Fame is kinda frowned upon and the new thing is being recognized for something so hyper specific amongst your community of individuals. Take it or fake it and call it a niche. Niche you are. Influencer fatigue breeding a whole new genre of internet culture based in reality, far removed from the glitz of perfection and gaudy in the push against automated content, communities like these that are beginning to thrive in this weird space not yet claimed.
But how did we get here? What did it mean to have influence? What does it mean now? Influence used to be about building a narrative so profound that it was unmistakable as anything other than your identity. Now it sits amongst the junk fed to you on a portable mirror. Influence used to grow with the audience but where does it go when the audience no longer searches for the same day in my life?

The pendulum is swinging and we’re entering a new frontier. The second renaissance is here. In the post automation world, depth and articulation reign. So with that being said? Where are you spending your time? What crafts are you refining or building? How are you connecting with others in meaningful ways outside of lifestyle flashes that scream nothing about who you are? Maybe it isn’t that deep, but it is.
I just wanted you to know,
